Grand Valley State University (GVSU) and BrainReactions to Innovate Entrepreneurship Courses

Professional Speaker and BrainReactions Chief Operating Officer Darin Eich will visit Grand Valley State University September 12 and 13, 2006, to speak about entrepreneurship and innovation. The visit will coincide with the launch of a pilot curriculum designed by Eich’s company, BrainReactions, and Grand Valley State University, to help students generate innovative ideas for businesses, products, and services, which the students will further develop through a series of entrepreneurship courses as part of an Entrepreneurship Minor. Earlier this summer, Eich and Grand Valley instructor John Rumery met to develop the program in order to tap into individual students’ strengths and catalyze their idea generation process.

BrainReactions has earned much recognition in the past year, stemming from such notable achievements as collaborating with the United Nations to generate ideas from college students to eradicate extreme global poverty and BusinessWeek magazine naming BrainReactions CEO Anand Chhatpar as one of the top five Entrepreneurs under 25. BrainReactions was started at the University of Wisconsin in 2004 as an innovation-generating brainstorming company that recruits and trains college students to develop product and business ideas for the most innovative companies in the world. In addition to brainstorming services, BrainReactions also has developed a web 2.0 application for online brainstorming, as well as a “learning journey” called Innovation Trip, which was recently featured by BusinessWeek magazine. Innovation Trip is a program designed to help global business leaders apply the culture of American innovation to their organizations and spark innovation and creativity around the world.

Eich is also the founder of CollegeMotivation.com and is finishing his doctoral dissertation, focused on high quality leadership programs. Grand Valley will benefit from the current research concerning strategies for developing entrepreneurial leaders who are positioned to generate and develop influential ideas and organizations.
